	The quality of this wine is purely a function of the 2008 growing season, which was a nail biting year with poor spring flowering reducing the size of the eventual crop. September's cool and cloudy weather delayed the critical ripening. But October brought the needed: warm, sunny and free from rain weather necessary to fully ripen the fruit. Growers who waited - and Utopia did - were rewarded with mature fully-ripened grapes with wholly evolved flavors. The 2008 Utopia vineyard Estate Pinot-noir is a delicious combination of rose petals, red and black cherry fruit with hints of cinnamon and spice and has both depth and restraint all at once.
